Waikato Senior Championships

The Waikato Senior Secondary Schools Championships is the flagship competition for Senior school athletes (Y11-13). The competition is held in early Term 1 and spans over 4 divisions, catering for teams ranging in all skill levels. The Waikato Senior Championships is used as seeding for the NZSS National Championships in March.

The Peak (60 Kimbrae Drive, Rototuna).

Hillcrest High School Gym (141 Masters Avenue).

Fraser High School Gym (72 Ellicott Road).

Hamilton Boys' High School Gym (47 Peachgrove Road).

Division 1 & 2 Protocol

As part of our ongoing mission to raise the level of play, all teams competing in Division 1 & 2 will be required to provide locally qualified referees at a minimum.

It is therefore a requirement for all teams in Division 1 & 2 to have numbered uniforms and be able to complete scoresheet and be understand the match protocols.

Division Formats

Division 1 & 2: Games are played Best of 5 sets (25, 25, 25, 25, 15) with 1.45 hour timeslots

Division 3, 4 & 5: Games are played to time with 30 - 40 minute timeslots.
