Referees play an important role in maintaining the integrity of the game and to ensure that the game is played in a fair manner. Becoming a knowledgable and competent referee is rewarding, knowing that you are making a positive impact and contributing to the success of the game.

REFEREE PATHWAY​​​​​​​


Volleyball Waikato delivers several referee courses throughout the year, including the Senior Schools Referee Course in Term 1, the Regional Referee Course in Term 2 for the club and IPC seasons, and the Junior Referee Course in late Term 3 ahead of the Waikato Junior Championships.

As part of our commitment to raising the standard of refereeing across the region, all teams competing in the Premier Division of the Waikato Junior and Senior Championships must provide qualified referees.

These courses are delivered by Federation-qualified referee Brieana Booth and Volleyball Waikato Development Manager Seth Phork.
