Playing Information & Conditions
1. The tournament is for teams of 6 or more players (we recommend at least 7), and play will start at about 9am, finishing about 7pm (for the final);
2. All teams will be guaranteed at least 5 games during the day - the exact game lengths, draw and other competition rules and details will be advised after entries are closed, 9 days prior to the tournament (i.e. 5pm, Thursday 20th March);
3.Teams must represent one country, or one region (e.g. Chile, or South America), and must have at least 4 players from that country or region on the court at all times;
4. Teams may be mixed, or single-sex, and of any age (preferably NOT primary school children). After initial games, once we can see the strength of the teams, the tournament will be into 1st and 2nd Divisions;
5. Medals and prizes will be awarded to winning teams in both divisions (medals will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rd-placed teams in both divisions)
6. Teams will be required to do duty - refereeing and scoring, BUT the organisers will provide 1st Referees for teams not confident in that area;
7. A lounge and food area will be open, and teams will be encouraged to bring their 'ethnic' food;
8. The competition is being run by the Waikato Volleyball Association, with assistance from Sport Waikato and the Hamilton City Council Ethnic Development Advisor.
